JD Vance Seemingly Struggled To Read His Notes During Speech

JD Vance recently visited Iowa’s 3rd Congressional District, where he appeared to struggle with his speech as he read from his notes. The US Vice President was there to support the GOP representative, Zach Nunn, when a video of a slip-up began circulating on social media. The blunder happened when he tried to take a jibe at Democratic candidate, state Senator Sarah Trone Garriott.

JD Vance appear to struggle read from his notes

Vice President JD Vance was in Des Moines, Iowa, at a manufacturing facility when he struggled to give a speech and appeared lost while reading his own notes.

Vance was attending Iowa’s 3rd Congressional District to express his support for Republican candidate Zach Nunn. However, as he started taking shots at Nunn’s Democratic opponent, Sarah Trone Garriott, the VP seemed to struggle to read his own notes.

He went on to state, “When I see Iowa farmers who need to get that [gasoline-ethanol mix] E15 to market, what is, uh, this, what is, uh…” Vance took a long pause, after which he had to call on Nunn to help him with the speech. He said, “Zach, you’re going to have to help me out with her name here. I lost my page here.”

After getting assistance from Nunn, Vance finally appeared to be back on track and continued, “OK, alright. OK, there we go. Sarah Trone Garriott. There it is. I-I’m, I’m on the wrong page here.” Vance or his representatives have not yet commented on the slip-up.

Meanwhile, the video of the blunder went viral on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) with many users chiming in to share their views. A user on X noted, “JD Vance clearly doesn’t have it. It’s becoming increasingly likely he won’t be the Republican nominee for president in 2028. And if he is, the Democratic nominee will beat him decisively.” Another user roasted him and wrote, “Could he be worse at this? Good luck, Maga, you have a real winner here.”
