For months, speculation has swirled around the high-profile dispute between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni, with fans and industry insiders watching for any development. Beyond the prominent stars involved, the situation sparked broader conversations about accountability and workplace dynamics in Hollywood. Now, Baldoni has broken his silence on the legal battle and the lawsuit settlement.
Justin Baldoni’s lawyer confirms his reaction of settlement of Blake Lively lawsuit
Justin Baldoni has publicly shared his reaction to the Blake Lively lawsuit settlement through his legal counsel, signaling closure on a closely watched legal dispute. According to attorney Bryan Freedman, Baldoni is “ecstatic” that the legal battle surrounding It Ends With Us is over. Freedman noted that Baldoni and producer Jamie Heath are “very pleased” with the outcome.
“I can’t talk about the terms of the settlement, but what I can tell you is that he is ecstatic, that both Jamie and Justin are ecstatic at the results of this and the settlement itself. They are very pleased with where this ended up,” Freedman shared with Extra.
Freedman further explained that Baldoni had already stepped away from the litigation before settlement talks started. He added that the Five Feet Apart director sees the settlement as the rational conclusion to a case he was no longer part of. He doesn’t view it as a victory or defeat.
“This is not his settlement,” the attorney said. “He’s already out of the case by the time this settlement discussion even starts. Justin Baldoni is not a party, and that’s what gets forgotten a lot.”
Freedman further noted that major developments in the case occurred before the two sides opened settlement talks. “Ten of the 13 claims were gone as a result of the summary judgment motion,” he shared. “Five individuals were out of the case. What remained was really Blake Lively versus It Ends With Us, the movie LLC, the agency group and Wayfarer Studios.”
The legal dispute wrapped up on Monday, May 4, after attorneys for both sides announced a settlement just under two weeks before the New York trial date.
