Kanye West’s Ex Reveals Her Role in Infamous Taylor Swift VMA Incident

Kanye West’s ex, Amber Rose, appeared to take partial responsibility for the infamous 2009 VMA moment between him and Taylor Swift. She was referring to the incident when Swift won Best Female Video for “You Belong With Me,” but her speech was interrupted by Ye. He took center stage to acknowledge Swift’s win but also claimed that Beyoncé had “one of the best videos of all time.”

Amber Rose might have incited Ye to crash during Taylor Swift’s speech

In the latest episode of Ball in the Family Podcast, Rose claimed that she might have unknowingly encouraged West to cause drama at the VMAs during Swift’s award acceptance moment. She said, “It’s partially my fault.”

She revealed that while they were heading out for the ceremony, she gave West the idea to take the bottle of cognac. “I’m like, ‘Babe, you got that bottle of Hennessy upstairs, like, you a superstar. You need to get the Henny… We need to be, you know, just taking shots of Henny on the carpet,” she added.

She said she hyped him up to get the bottle, and Ye listened to her enthusiastically. At the VMAs, Ye took back-to-back sips from the drink while encouraging other celebrities around to join him. She believes that the booze might have backfired.

Furthermore, she claimed that when Ye’s and Swift’s infamous moment occurred on stage, she had no time to react. “I’m just sitting there and then he’s on stage and I’m like, ‘Oh s—t.’ I was not expecting that… Do I agree with how he did it? No. But was he right? Yes,” she further added.

Although Ye and Swift had a publicized feud, the latter was very generous to send some gifts to Rose’s son, Sebastian, who’s a big fan of the ‘Reputation’ singer. Recalling the lovely gesture by Swift, she added, “She sent us a big box of all her merch and got us tickets to the concert. Very nice. She understood that it wasn’t me.”
