The “Hunger Games” alum said the relationship made sense after loss, hesitation, and an unexpected reunion. Tucci, 65, married Blunt, 45, in 2012. Their story also linked back to her sister-in-law, Emily Blunt, his co-star in “The Devil Wears Prada,” and their first meeting in 2006.

In his “Open Book” podcast appearance, Stanley Tucci said to the host Jenna Bush Hager that he had doubts about remarrying. His first wife, Kathryn Spath, died from cancer in 2009. However, the “Lovely Bones” actor said Felicity changed that picture. “I wasn’t sure that I would ever remarry,” he said. He added, “I never thought I would have children again.” Then, he said meeting Blunt “just sort of made sense,” despite “this age gap of 21 years.”
The “Devil Wears Prada 2” actor also explained how the connection started around familiar people. Tucci was introduced to Felicity through Emily Blunt at the 2006 premiere of “The Devil Wears Prada.” Later, after Kathryn’s death, he saw her again at Emily’s 2010 wedding to “The Office” star, John Krasinski. That event took place at George Clooney’s Lake Como home in Italy. Still, Tucci said the relationship worked because they “hit it off.” He added, “We had a lot in common, even though we had nothing in common.”
Meanwhile, Tucci credited Felicity with changing his home life. He said she gave him “a sense of security” and gave his children the same feeling. The actor also called her “fun to hang out with” and “incredibly positive.” He added, “Her mind is incredible,” while praising how she processed the world around her. In 2023, Tucci said he once feared feeling old because of their age gap. However, the split did not last. The couple shares a son, Matteo, born in 2015, and a daughter, Emilia, born in 2018. Tucci also has three children from his first marriage, twins Isabel and Nicolo, and daughter Camilla.
