President Donald Trump will have an annual medical and dental checkup later this month, according to the White House. The appointment is set for May 26 at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and comes as questions around the president’s health continue to attract public attention.
Trump, who turns 80 next month, has the visits as part of his routine preventive healthcare and annual physical assessment.
White House says Donald Trump is going to get his annual medical checkup
Donald Trump’s checkup will be the fourth publicly known medical visit since he returned to office (via Reuters). At an Oval Office event on Monday, Trump said he felt no different than he did decades ago. “I feel literally the same,” he said. “I don’t know why. It’s not because I eat the best foods.” Days earlier, he joked about his workout habits and said he exercises “like about one minute a day, max” (via MS Now).
Medical updates released by the White House over the past year have outlined several routine evaluations. Following an annual physical in April 2025, Trump’s physician, Navy Capt. Sean Barbabella stated that the president remained “fully fit” to carry out his duties as commander in chief. The report also said Trump weighed 20 pounds less than he did during a 2020 examination, when doctors noted he was close to the obesity range.
Later in the year, Trump underwent additional testing after experiencing swelling in his lower legs. White House doctors diagnosed him with chronic venous insufficiency, a condition that affects blood circulation and commonly appears in older adults.’
In October last year, Trump also received a flu vaccine and a COVID-19 booster during what the White House referred to as a “semiannual physical”. Now, the latest examination is scheduled shortly after Trump’s expected return from Beijing, where he is due to meet Chinese President Xi Jinping at an international summit.
