President Donald Trump launched an extensive social media attack late Monday, posting more than 50 times to his Truth Social platform over three hours. The posts, which continued into the early hours of Tuesday, targeted political opponents, including Barack Obama, with baseless accusations and AI photos.
Donald Trump shares post about Barack Obama in late-night rant
Donald Trump promoted content that falsely claimed Barack Obama orchestrated an alleged coup against him. He amplified posts describing the former president as a “traitor” and “the most DEMONIC FORCE in American politics.” No evidence was offered to substantiate any of the allegations.
The president also shared an AI photo showing Obama, Joe Biden, and Nancy Pelosi in the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool. The altered photos showed the pool filled with sewage beneath a caption reading “Dumacrats love sewage.” The reflecting pool has been in the headlines after Trump proposed renovating it to what he calls “American flag blue.”
The project has gotten backlash after the New York Times reported that a $6.9 million contract was awarded to a firm that previously renovated a pool at Trump’s Virginia golf course. Trump defended the work, stating, “This is not just a paint job … it is a deeply complicated work of smart and beautiful construction.”
The president’s late-night posting spree did not spare members of his own party. Trump voiced frustration with Supreme Court justices Neil Gorsuch and Amy Coney Barrett, both of whom he appointed. Their votes against his tariff agenda earlier this year still rankled. “I ‘Love’ Justice Neil Gorsuch! He’s a really smart and good man, but he voted against me, and our Country, on Tariffs, a devastating move,” Trump wrote. “How do I reconcile this? So bad, and hurtful to our Country.”
Other targets included Illinois Governor JB Pritzker, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, and Hillary Clinton. Trump also repeated debunked claims that the 2020 election was stolen from him.
