Drake’s leaked lyrics from the track “23 & Me” referenced LeBron James’s loyalty issues by mentioning that he is “switching teams”.
The track from Drake’s upcoming “Iceman” album is supposedly referring both to James changing NBA teams and also his changing loyalties in the Drake-Lamar dispute.

The leaked “23 & Me” track says, “I shouldn’t even be shocked to see you in that arena, because you always made your career off of switching teams up… Please stop asking what’s going on with 23 & me, I’m a real n**** and he’s not, it’s in my DNA,” Fans see this as a direct attack against LeBron James’s shifting loyalties in sport and friendship.
It is interesting to note that Drake and LeBron James have always been on friendly terms, with the stars making public appearances together. However, things between them seem to have soured when James publicly appeared in Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Pop Out” concert in 2024, where songs like “Not Like Us” dissed Drake publicly.
James came out publicly in an attempt to cool the mounting tensions, saying that he and Drake are simply “in different places” and there is “no hate” between them.
Despite this reassurance, fans seem to believe that Drake has not moved past the Lamar diss and is presently lashing out at all “traitors”. One user joked, “That ‘23 & me’ line alone about to keep Twitter unemployed for the next 48 hours.” Critics have also expressed that the leaked lyrics hit more personally and are in line with Drake’s recent tone.
The leaked “23 & Me” lyrics seemed to have accomplished an important goal: build significant hype around the “Iceman” release, which also happens to be Drake’s first major release since 2023.
