Trisha Paytas revealed she was genuinely shocked when Sydney Sweeney referenced the “N-word” on Euphoria. In the Netflix show, Sweeney stars as Cassie, an OnlyFans creator in the third season of the show. Unsurprisingly, the actress and Euphoria’s showrunners have been receiving backlash for X-rated scenes in the show. Needless to say, neither Sweeney nor the makers are paying any heed and are focusing on delivering the script.
Trisha Paytas says her reaction to Sydney Sweeney’s ‘N-word’ reference was real
Trisha Paytas recently recalled that her reaction to Sydney Sweeney’s “N-word” reference was real. Euphoria season 3, particularly scenes involving Sweeney’s Cassie, has shown outrageous storylines ever since the premiere. The season chronicles Sweeney’s journey as an OnlyFans creator and her desire to latch on to its fame and success.
Sweeney and her ex-best-friend-turned-manager, Maddy (Alexa Demie), are using ragebait to further Cassie’s public profile. As per the requirement, Cassie has to appear on various podcasts and make unhinged comments to appeal to her male fanbase.
Meanwhile, online personality Paytas played one of the podcast hosts. She confessed that she was genuinely shocked when Sweeney referenced the “N-word.” Paytas shared some behind-the-scenes moments on her Instagram and dropped the confession in the comments section. She penned, “Euphoria. I had no script so that speechless reaction was real. Adding actress to my resume.”
In the episode, Paytas asked Cassie, “Oh, so you think [men] are being too restricted by society?” To which Cassie replied, “Yes! Like, if a man today were to say that he wants a girlfriend who could cook or clean, he might as well be screaming the n-word!” A visibly shocked Paytas stuttered an awkward “okay,” wondering how to respond to this. However, Cassie’s manager, Maddy, shot a thumbs-up, gesturing to Cassie that she was doing a good job (via HuffPost).
One fan lavished praise on Paytas: “such a beautiful performance. when you said ‘okay’ I really felt the magnitude of what ur character was going through. the confusion, the loss, the mystery, the attempt to maintain professionalism as her interview goes off the rails…. I get chills thinking about it.” Another said, “i need the extended trisha cut.”
