The Traitors host Alan Cumming has just teased an “extra twist” in The Killer Among Us, a new true crime series on Oxygen. Apparently, every killer in this series has something in common, and this common denominator, Alan admits, is “kind of terrifying.”
Alan Cumming has an exciting new show coming to Oxygen

Next week, Alan is back on our screens via his newest series, The Killer Among Us. In the bio, Oxygen designated Alan as the host. Regarding the concept, this series will explore “shocking murders that take place in tight-knit communities throughout the U.S. As these sinister crimes rock close circles, universities, small towns, and places of worship, those closest are shocked when they realize the suspect could also be a friend, colleague, neighbor, or classmate.”
While speaking with US Weekly ahead of its debut, Alan admitted that true crime was “absolutely not” a popular topic during his youth. “We still don’t have as many true crime shows at all, ratio-wise,” he added. Yet, there was one story that happened when he was “a little boy” in Scotland. And this story was about a woman who “was having an affair, she went missing, her body was never discovered.”
Yikes. However, Alan feels drawn to stories with a good “twist.” And The Killer Among Us definitely has one. As he explained, “We know at the start that the killer is among us.”
Alan loves “that extra twist. It makes you pay more attention. It makes you much more, sort of, analytical, I think. It’s also much more shocking because of that,” he said.
The Killer Among Us premieres on May 17 at 7/6c on Oxygen. Meanwhile, The Traitors is streaming on Peacock.
