The fabulous Geena Davis always has a good story to tell, and this time she shared how it felt to be kissed by Brad Pitt and what she learned about his bestie George Clooney. The actress spilled it all on Watch What Happens Live as she hilariously recalled her iconic 1991 film, Thelma and Louise.
Did George want Brad Pitt’s role?
Everyone remembers Thelma and Louise, the famous movie about two girlfriends and their final reckless ride. And young Brad as the drifter that seduces Geena’s character Thelma is absolutely unforgettable. The character marked Brad’s breakout role in Hollywood.
Geena talks more about her experience with the Hollywood A-lister on WWHL with Andy Cohen. In a segment called Plead the Fifth, Andy asked her to describe, in one word, what it was like to kiss the young heartthrob for the film.
The actress appeared flustered as she searched for the right word to describe her makeout with Brad. She smiled and said she wasn’t sure if she wanted to answer that question. Luckily, Nathan Fillion was there to lend a hand.
“Memorable? Sublime?” Nathan supplied.
“Yes, yes, both of those,” she nodded.
Andy asked her what made her go to bat for Brad at the Thelma and Louise auditions, and she said she thought the part best. She read with the four finalists for the role. And then, much later, she learned something really funny.
She was on a plane with George, Brad’s bestie, and they got to talking. At one point, Brad came up, and George said, “You know I hate that Brad Pitt.”
Genna laughed and said, “No, you don’t,” she told George. “Isn’t he like your best friend or something?” And George told her that he hated Brad because he got the part in Thelma and Louise. She was confused and asked if he wanted that part.
“Couldn’t you tell when I read with you?” George told her, much to her surprise. In the end, though, they went with the right actor. And it all worked out for both Brad and George.
