Seth Meyers Mocks Donald Trump’s ‘Dumbocrats’ Comment

Seth Meyers mocked Donald Trump for seemingly forgetting his nickname for Democratic lawmakers, “Dumbocrats,” and asking people around him to explain his own joke. Earlier this week, the president spoke about how it feels better to be the hunter than to be hunted. While taking a subtle jab at Democrats over their lack of support for him. He then jokingly coined a nickname for the opposition, suggesting that they lack intelligence.

Seth Meyers makes fun of Donald Trump for ‘Dumbocrats’ joke

During an episode of Late Night with Seth Meyers, the popular host poked fun at Donald Trump. He mentioned he was unable to recall his “Dumbocrats” joke. He cracked this joke earlier this week in reference to the opposition party’s lack of support for him and his administration. Alluding to Trump’s speech, he added, “During an Oval Office event on Monday, President Trump called Democratic lawmakers ‘Dumb-ocrats’ and added, ‘Because they’re dumb.”

He further elaborated on how Trump forgot his own joke: “Once again, he’s explaining it to us because someone had to explain it to him. Somebody in the White House said ‘Dumb-ocrats,’ and he was like, ‘Why are you saying it like that?’ And then they told him.”

These comments come amid Trump saying in a speech that very bad people were hunting him, but then the tables flipped. He said that now he’s the “hunter,” which he believes is much better, while stressing how the opposition, which he refers to as “bad” people, won’t give him support no matter what. He said, “I’ll give you an example. I don’t know the numbers. If we go to Congress to get something approved, which we get, you can say we won’t get one Democrat vote.”

Mocking the Democrats, he said, “I don’t know how they get away with it. That’s why we call them the ‘Dumb-ocrats.’ The ‘Dumb-ocrats.’ Because they’re dumb. They just can’t do it,” (via The Mirror US)
