The Valley’s Danny Booko Defends Behavior After Backlash

In case you missed it, Danny Booko came under fire during the latest episode of The Valley after being rude to his wife, Nia Sanchez. His attitude towards her isn’t necessarily new, but things got particularly icky during their San Diego cast trip.

With their three-month-old in tow, Nia was laser-focused on tending to the baby. Meanwhile, Danny wanted to enjoy some time with his wife and their friends. The resentment festered, Danny got disrespectful, and of all people, Lala Kent had to intervene.

Since then, social media has been blowing up with reactions to the uncomfortable behavior playing out on screen. However, Danny has shared an explanation for all of it. He’s blaming this on biology.

Danny addressed his Season 3 Episode 7 behavior during The Valley After Show and explained why parenting duties left him feeling frustrated with Nia.

They brought their nanny with them to San Diego, so he thought he was off the hook. However, he said that Nia expected him to be on full-time daddy duty, nanny or not.

“We paid for Lina, who is an absolute angel and very capable of doing everything with the child, except breastfeed,” he explained. “There was a little bit of, OK, why am I being asked to do so many things that are easily done and can be easily done by the babysitter who we have out here?”

Of course, Danny knew that there would be some diaper changes and some middle-of-the-night wakeups. But in between all of that, he thought their nanny would handle some of their parenting responsibilities. When Nia had different expectations, his frustrations bubbled up to the surface.

“It was one of those things that was, you know, a little frustrating of, like, hey, we brought a sitter here so that we can have quality time, be around some friends, and not have the other three kids,” he continued. “Obviously, Adelaide is our responsibility, but we do have help, so let’s use it as much as we can.”

Ultimately, Danny theorized that moms and dads see things differently because their brains aren’t wired the same. He said he can easily turn off from dad mode. Moms are always on.

Danny explained, “I can give the baby to Lina, and my mind turns off about it … [Nia is] thinking [about] everything that could go wrong. Their minds don’t turn off about it.”

The Valley continues on Wednesdays at 8/7c on Bravo. You can stream it the next day on Peacock.
