Sir David Beckham has joined forces with the King’s Foundation to co-design a showpiece at this week’s RHS Chelsea Flower Show, and a PR expert claims he is tending to his image after his and Victoria Beckham’s feud with their son, Brooklyn. David presents it as a genuine labor of love and an attempt to get people outdoors. But insiders believe the move could not come at a better time. After Brooklyn blasted his parents on social media in January this year, an expert calls David’s Curious Garden “PR gold.”
David Beckham’s contribution to the RHS Chelsea Flower Show decoded by expert
Speaking of his contribution to the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, David Beckham told The Mirror, “I hope we inspire people to get outside into nature and to try something new.” But PR expert Mayah Riaz claimed it had more to do with Brooklyn Beckham’s feud with him and Victoria.
Behind the scenes, the Beckham family is dealing with constant chatter about the rift with their eldest son and his wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham. And so, Riaz told the Mirror, “It makes him appear less like an untouchable global superstar and more an aspirational family man, which I would call PR gold.”
Riaz pointed to the subtle power of the imagery David and Victoria now project from their £12 million Cotswolds estate. She claimed, “There’s a quiet emotional layer to all of this,” explaining, “During periods of family scrutiny and public speculation surrounding Brooklyn and the wider Beckham family dynamic, retreating into gardening and country life offers an image of stability, calm and normality.”
Additionally, Riaz highlighted, “Whether this was intentional or not, the visuals of David and Victoria at their farmhouse create a sense of unity and escapism.” In that, “It’s a reminder that behind the global brand is still a family trying to protect their peace.”
David Beckham, for his part, makes no secret of where his heart lies, stating, “It gives me a great sense of calm and contentment,” and adding, “I built all of it for my family and I’m very proud of what I have created.”
