Brooklyn Beckham was recently spotted spending time with his godfather, Elton John. The outing came as Brooklyn’s reported estrangement from his parents continued. He and Nicola Peltz were seen enjoying a yacht trip with the music icon.

Brooklyn and Nicola vacationed with Elton and his husband, David Furnish, in the South of France. The couple reportedly spent time together aboard Elton’s yacht near Nice on July 29. Reports from PEOPLE shared that the group enjoyed their time together.
Elton John has long been close to the Beckham family and is godfather to Brooklyn and Romeo Beckham. The singer has also remained a close family friend of the Beckham family. Brooklyn’s latest outing therefore came amid an increasingly public family rift.
Meanwhile, Brooklyn’s parents, David Beckham and Victoria Beckham, reportedly vacationed in Spain. They were reportedly joined by their other children, Romeo, Cruz Beckham, and Harper Beckham. Romeo’s girlfriend, Kim Turnbull, reportedly joined the family during their holiday.
Brooklyn has reportedly remained estranged from his parents amid ongoing family tensions. He was notably absent from Harper’s 15th birthday celebration in July. He also reportedly missed David’s Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony in June.
The family dispute intensified after Brooklyn shared several Instagram Stories in January. He accused his parents of allegedly trying to interfere with his marriage to Nicola. Brooklyn claimed his parents had been “endlessly trying to ruin” their relationship.
Brooklyn also alleged that his parents prioritized “public promotion and endorsements above all else.” He further claimed they attempted to “bribe” him into giving up rights to his name. Brooklyn also made allegations involving Victoria and his wedding reception.
“I do not want to reconcile with my family.” Brooklyn wrote at the time. He added, “I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life.” His parents have since largely avoided publicly addressing the allegations.
The outing has only fueled further discussion about Brooklyn’s relationship with his family.
