Donald Trump Drops Weird ‘Call Me’ Message to Aide’s Wife

President Donald Trump has caused a stir online after posting an oddly personal message on Truth Social. In it, he appeared to ask the wife of one of his cabinet secretaries to phone him. The post, which many observers assumed was meant to be private, did go viral.

The message was posted on Sunday as thousands gathered on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., for a day-long prayer festival called Rededicate 250. Trump began his post, writing, “I HOPE EVERYBODY AT REDEDICATE 250 IS HAVING A GOOD TIME.” What followed, however, was far less typical. The president added: “IF THERE IS ANYTHING I CAN DO TO HELP, JUST HAVE OUR BEAUTIFUL, BOTH INSIDE AND OUT, RACHAEL C.D., GIVE ME A CALL.”

The person being singled out appeared to be Rachel Campos-Duffy, co-host of Fox & Friends Weekend and wife of Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy. Trump misspelled her first name as “Rachael” and tacked on the initials “C.D.” in a manner that left readers puzzled. It is not known whether the president intended the message to be public or if he had mistakenly shared what should have been a direct note.

This is not the first time Trump has published what appeared to be private correspondence. In October, he accidentally posted a furious message mentioning former Attorney General Pam Bondi, bluntly addressing her as “Pam.” Sunday’s episode, however, stood out for its warm and complimentary tone. Campos-Duffy was reporting live from the event for Fox & Friends at the time. Secretary Duffy was not scheduled to speak.

The Rededicate 250 event drew thousands of participants and attracted criticism over its mix of government and religion. Organizers stated the nine-hour program was designed to “prepare for the nation’s 250th birthday.” They added, “with Scripture, testimony, prayer, and rededication of our country as One Nation to God.” Whereas Public Citizen, a government watchdog group, condemned the event. “The agenda for this ‘jubilee’ reads less like a traditional religious event and more like a program for the Church of Trump.”
