Donald Trump talks about Mark Cuban who openly criticized him in 2024
Donald Trump just shared a stage with a man who once called him “the most unethical” person in business. The Daily Beast reports billionaire Mark Cuban appeared alongside the president at a healthcare affordability event on Monday. The former foe openly praised Trump’s “TrumpRx” initiative in a surprising turn of events.
“Thank you for having me, Mr. President,” Cuban said during the event. He added that apart from Trump, he had “been the biggest proponent of TrumpRx.com.” Cuban emphasized that Republicans, independents, and Democrats all want cheaper drugs.
A reporter then pressed Trump on why one of his most vocal critics stood beside him. The journalist noted that Cuban had endorsed Kamala Harris back in the 2024 presidential election. Trump responded bluntly, saying Cuban “made a mistake” and called it “a big mistake.”
The president then pivoted to praising the former Dallas Mavericks owner’s business acumen. He stated that Cuban “has got a good company” and would “do a lot of business with us.” Trump also made an eyebrow-raising claim, saying he has “a lot of respect for Mark, frankly, and I always have.”
However, the two billionaires have clashed repeatedly over the years on multiple occasions. Trump called Cuban “a Loser” and “weak and pathetic” on Truth Social in October 2024. He also described the Shark Tank star as “a total non-athlete” with “really low clubhead speed.”
Cuban previously called Trump “unethical” during a conversation with Vivek Ramaswamy in August 2024. He also endorsed Hillary Clinton in 2016 and backed Harris in 2024. When asked outside the White House if he regrets supporting Harris, Cuban declined to discuss his politics. He told the Daily Beast over email that he cares “about lowering the cost of healthcare” and called everything else “rage bait.”
