Scream star Hayden Panettiere has revealed that her daughter with ex-fiancé Wladimir Klitschko, 11-year-old Kaya, has expressed her desire to pursue acting.
Hayden, whose memoir This is Me: A Reckoning is out now, says that she would like her daughter to proceed with caution, as she will not get back her privacy when she is famous.

Panettiere told E! News, “I started getting calls from my 11-year-old about being interested in the industry,” and described the feeling as “a nail biter.” The actress, who was introduced to the entertainment industry when she was 12 months old, knows the ups and downs of a life lived under the public eye. When asked whether she would have chosen acting for herself if she were pushed into it, Panettiere said, “I will never know.”
The Heroes alum confirmed that though she would support her daughter in whatever path she chooses, she would like her to take some time, try a few things out, and have a college experience.”
The 36-year-old actress, who has detailed her experiences of being in mainstream Hollywood, muses, “She still has the ability to fly under the radar, and once you give that up, you don’t get that back. Once you’re out there, and you’re famous and known, there’s no getting your privacy back.”
She and Wlad dated on and off for years before getting engaged in 2013. Kaya was born a year later, and the couple parted ways in 2018 due to her struggles with addiction and postpartum depression. While her ex-fiancé was afraid and had reservations about his name being mentioned in the memoir, Panettiere assures the media that she has been vigilant about informing him about everything that was going into the book, so that he is “not surprised.”
