Gracie McGraw has opened up about her battle with eating disorders and body image issues. The 29-year-old, who is the daughter of country music stars Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, said she used Ozempic for three years to manage symptoms associated with PCOS.
Gracie McGraw revealed she stopped taking Ozempic after it triggered her eating disorder
On August 3, McGraw shared her thoughts through a series of posts on her Instagram Stories about “skinny culture,” reports People. She revealed that she began taking Ozempic after being diagnosed with polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome (PMOS). The condition was formerly known as polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).
She wrote about taking the GLP-1 medication, describing, “At that time I thought it was the best decision I ever made because I finally lost weight and got skinny. “As soon as I started shedding a few pounds, I noticed how people looked at me differently on the streets, in my friend groups and family, and in my own job. I got more opportunities when I lost weight than I ever have had in my life.”
Gracie admitted that gaining more attention did not completely change how she viewed herself. She said that years of body shaming continued to impact her body image. The comparisons to her famous family, including her parents and younger sisters Maggie and Audrey, also added to the pressure she felt.
The singer said she had been called “fat” and “ugly” throughout her life because of her appearance, including by magazines and online critics. She explained that the medication changed the way she viewed herself. She said it helped ease her PCOS symptoms.
However, it also led to a relapse of her eating disorder and renewed struggles with body image. McGraw described her experience with Ozempic as “probably one of the worst things” she had done for herself. She is now regaining weight and recognizing how deeply her weight loss affected the way she viewed herself.
McGraw first sparked public attention after sharing her journey of coming out as queer, according to People. In June 2025, she shared a Pride message on Instagram Stories, celebrating her queer identity. Along with opening up about her personal experiences, she appeared as Tanya in Tyler Perry’s If Loving You Is Wrong between 2018 and 2020. In 2022, she joined Hill for an episode of Be My Guest with Ina Garten, where they baked a Coca-Cola cake.
