Colton’s audiobook is available to listen to on Audiobooks.com. Ahead of the May 19 release, Colton shared an exclusive excerpt with People that detailed how becoming a father changed his life.

“Fatherhood stripped away whatever ego I had left,” he says. “Suddenly, it wasn’t about how I was seen, but how you would see me. It wasn’t about legacy or reputation; it was about love — the kind that shows up in the middle of the night, bleary-eyed and humming lullabies, the kind that picks up toys for the hundredth time, that learns to see the world through the wonder in your eyes.”

Colton and his husband, Jordan C. Brown, welcomed a son, Bishop, in September 2024. Colton shared the news on Instagram, writing, “Our world is a million times better with you in it. Bishop Colton Brown-Underwood ? September 26th, 2024.”

In the audiobook excerpt shared with People, Colton says that coming out and meeting his husband opened the door for family. He describes the experience as a “miracle.”

“When I came out, I thought I was telling the world who I was. What I didn’t realize was that I was also opening a door for you — for the life that would come later, for this moment, for this letter,” he said. “Your other dad, your Dada, was part of that miracle too. He showed me what it looks like to be loved without conditions. He taught me that strength isn’t about control. It’s about vulnerability — showing up with your whole heart, even when it’s messy.”

The Traitors is streaming on Peacock.
