Majority of Americans Think Donald Trump is Using His Office for Personal Gain — Poll

A new poll suggests that a large number of Americans believe that the President was using his office for personal gain, as Donald Trump promised that “America is thriving” under his leadership. This comes after Trump’s address at the White House Congressional Picnic on Tuesday night. As many as 59 percent of Americans right now believe that the President was using the office for his personal agenda.

New poll shows what Americans think about Donald Trump

Donald Trump, who is effectively one of the most controversial Presidents in the history of American politics, has once again drawn eyeballs after his bold claims at the White House Congressional Picnic on Tuesday night.

“America is thriving, America is winning, and America is respected, perhaps like it has never been respected before,” he told the members of Congress amidst the rising gas prices and high grocery bills.

With the Americans struggling with the high cost of living, a new poll from The Economist/YouGov notes that a whopping 59 percent believe Trump is using the presidency for personal gain (via AOL). Only 30 percent said the president was not using his office for his own benefit.

California Governor Gavin Newsom, a vocal critic of the President, doubled down on the claim in a social media post on May 20. Newsom wrote, “The slush fund. The ballroom. The IRS get-out-of-jail-free card. Donald Trump isn’t serving the American people — he’s serving himself. And he thinks you’re dumb enough to fall for it.”

It seems that more and more Americans are also starting to believe the same about the President. This is not the first time that people have questioned Trump and his family benefiting immensely from the Presidency.

In the first 14 months of his second term, the Trump Store sold at least 622 new products, earning $43,000. His two eldest sons, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, run the store. Numerous other allegations have also surfaced against the President. The administration continues to deny this.
