Donald Trump has made it clear that he absolutely hates to follow his wife, Melania, in one particular aspect. The President gave a detailed speech during the White House Congressional Picnic on Tuesday, wherein he shared his opinion on the House of Representatives’ recent approval of the Fostering the Future Act. While delivering the note, he also revealed the one activity he despises to go second in after the First Lady.
Donald Trump talks about what he hates doing after Melania
On May 19, the POTUS took to the podium during the White House Congressional Picnic after being introduced by his wife. However, as soon as he took hold of the microphone, he admitted that he does not like speaking on stage after her, as her oratory skills and popularity make it impossible for him to match up.
“What a great job, I have to follow that? I hate it! I never like following our great First Lady, because it makes me look not so good,” Donald Trump remarked, as per DWS News.
Trump continued, “Thank you, Melania, we’re truly blessed to have such a First Lady. She’s been so popular.” He then celebrated her debut in the film industry, showering her self-titled documentary with praise.
The two-time President also congratulated Melania Trump for her efforts in getting the House of Representatives to approve the “Fostering the Future Act.” The bipartisan piece of legislation focuses on implementing measures to improve the country’s foster care system. Donald Trump even described the act, for which Melania had campaigned vigorously, as “an issue close to the First Lady’s heart.”
“She’s been amazing. People love her, as you can see by the results. That was a big thing today. Congratulations on that vote. She had bipartisan vote,” Trump noted before jokingly adding, “I should use you for some of the things I want to try and pass.”
