Amaryllis Fox Kennedy reportedly left two jobs amid Iran war
Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s daughter-in-law, Amaryllis Fox Kennedy, is stepping down from two of her three key intelligence jobs within the Trump administration, because of the Iran war. According to a recent report by The Washington Post, she will be resigning from her posts as a deputy to Tulsi Gabbard at the Office of the Director of National Intelligence and as an Associate Director at the Office of Management and Budget.
The report cited five sources with direct knowledge of the matter who have confirmed that Kennedy’s resignation will be effective from Friday. One of the sources claimed that the Health and Human Services Secretary’s daughter-in-law is resigning from the post partly because she does not agree with President Donald Trump’s war against Iran.
However, in the May 8 email, where Kennedy informed her colleagues about her plans to return to the private sector, she did not mention the Iran war and was praiseful of Trump. “Being a mom is God’s greatest gift, and after two years on the campaign trail and a year serving in this extraordinary Administration, I have to make sure my family has all it needs,” Kennedy penned.
Kennedy, who has been a former CIA officer for eight years, further stated that she plans to continue serving in her third role within the Trump administration, as a member of the president’s Intelligence Advisory Board.
Tulsi Gabbard has made a statement addressing Kennedy’s resignation. “We are grateful to Amaryllis Fox Kennedy for her leadership and exceptional service,” the Director of National Intelligence said. “Under her leadership, we successfully aligned the Intelligence Community agencies with the Administration’s and ODNI’s goals, driving a unified approach to our mission,” Gabbard added.
