Donald Trump Supporters Spread Ebola and Hantavirus Conspiracy Theories Online

Donald Trump is once again dominating global discourse, with conspiracy theorists and fanatic MAGA supporters claiming that the recently emerged double threats of Ebola and Hantavirus are not natural occurrences. They are claiming that these have been engineered to weaken Trump’s position in the upcoming midterm elections. President Trump, however, is maintaining a more traditional stance in the face of these rumors. He’s saying that adequate healthcare safeguards and screening procedures are in place, and the situation is under control.

Virus conspiracy theories swirl around Donald Trump amid Ebola and Hantavirus outbreaks

A stream of anonymous social media accounts and livestreams is using AI and stitching together Donald Trump’s COVID-time clips. This is to spread rumors of Democratic “operatives” creating “biological weapons” to create a COVID-2.0-like situation. The latter will cause widespread lockdowns and necessitate mail-in ballots, and damage Donald Trump’s chances in the upcoming midterm elections.

Self-described “red pillers” such as Alex Jones and Marjorie Taylor Greene are a dominant voice in the conspiracy dialogue. Greene has reportedly made unsubstantiated claims that the anti-parasitic drug ivermectin can treat hantavirus. She allegedly claims that it “blocks RNA viruses from entering the nucleus, preventing replication.” Public health experts have quickly dismissed the claims, stating that the hantavirus replicates in the cytoplasm, not the nucleus.

Social media MAGA supporters have also claimed that hantavirus had been secretly listed as a side effect of the BioNTech COVID vaccine. A Washington political campaign advisor told RadarOnline.com, “The idea being pushed is that shadowy elites are preparing another pandemic scare to damage Trump before the midterms.”

Maria Van Kerkhove, Director of Epidemic and Pandemic Management at the World Health Organization, has stated, “This is not Covid; this is not the start of a Covid pandemic. This is not the same situation we were in six years ago. It doesn’t spread the same way.”

Amid false theories spiraling out of control, Trump has publicly stated that the administration has the situation completely “under control.” He has assured that strict travel guidelines and airport screenings are in place.
