Anne Hathaway Gets Wet in Fully See-Through Saint Laurent Dress for Elle

Anne Hathaway is diving into a cinematic fantasy for ELLE’s Summer 2026 “Women of The Odyssey” issue. The actress appeared in an unreal editorial spread inspired by Christopher Nolan’s upcoming epic. She posed dramatically in a soaking wet Saint Laurent by Anthony Vaccarello gown that turned completely sheer underwater. Styled by Law Roach, Hathaway embraced a darker, moodier aesthetic as she floated through a smoky, water-filled scene that mirrored the emotional intensity of her character, Penelope.

The deep emerald dress featured sheer fabric, voluminous ruffled sleeves, and more ruffles near the chest. It had a loose silhouette that hugged Anne Hathaway’s body once drenched. The translucent material revealed glimpses of her skin beneath the water while the flowing construction added movement and drama to the pictures.

Hathaway posed dramatically across the water’s surface, stretching her legs and arching her body into ghostly positions. In another shot, she floated with her face straight up, making her appear haunted. She perfectly embodied the dark mood of the editorial.

An emerald and diamond Bulgari choker necklace elevated the cinematic look further. It added a bit of luxury against the backdrop. Photographed by Norman Jean Roy, the editorial leaned into storytelling, transforming Hathaway into something ethereal. Her slicked-back hair, smoky metallic eye makeup, and pale complexion amplified the moody atmosphere.

In the accompanying interview, Hathaway reflected on her role in “The Odyssey”. In the film, she stars as Penelope, Odysseus’ wife, who spends 20 years resisting more than 100 suitors while waiting for her husband to return from war. Hathaway explained that she wanted to explore “the raw edge” of the character rather than simply portraying her as patient and composed.

The editorial marks Hathaway as one of the four stars featured in ELLE’s larger “Women of The Odyssey” issue, celebrating the female leads of Nolan’s highly anticipated film.
