Kid Rock delivered a special Memorial Day message on Monday morning. The singer and longtime MAGA ally appeared wearing a black zip-up hoodie, sunglasses, and a large chain while sharing the brief statement behind a Pentagon press podium.

The Pentagon selected Robert James Ritchie, aka Kid Rock, to deliver a special message on Memorial Day, when the country honors America’s fallen service members. “Hey everyone, this is Kid Rock,” the “Don’t Tell Me How to Live” singer began. “On this Memorial Day, we are remembering the sacrifice and service of so many who are not with us today. It’s a special day,” he added.

Kid Rock continued, “We’re thinking of them. Once again, I wanted to say thank you.” The 55-year-old musician concluded, “God bless all of you for your sacrifice, for your service. Keep on Kid Rocking in the free world. God bless you all.”

Ritchie has long been a Trump ally and is also a close friend of the U.S. Secretary of War, Pete Hegseth. In April, the pair rode in two Apache helicopters from an army airbase in Fort Belvoir, Virginia. According to reports, the Apaches flew up with just one pilot instead of the standard two pilots, in order to make room for Hegseth and Ritchie.

Speaking with The Daily Beast at the time, Pentagon spokesperson Sean Parnell said, “Today, Army helicopters operated in the National Capital Region in support of a Freedom 250th community relations event. As a part of that event, Robert ‘Kid Rock’ Ritchie participated in multiple troop touches with service members and filmed videos for Memorial Day, America’s 250th birthday, and for his Freedom 250 tour.”

Ritchie also pulled off another bizarre stunt involving Apaches in March. Two helicopters did a fly-by at his Nashville, Tennessee, residence, as the musician gave a salute. “God Bless America and all those who have made the ultimate sacrifice to defend her,” the singer said.
