Gayle King’s former husband is trending for all the wrong reasons. William Bumpus is being put on blast by the CBS Mornings co-host, who spoke about him on Wednesday. Gayle and William were married from 1982 to 1993 and have two kids.
The two continue to co-parent since their split. She opened up about catching him in a very compromising situation years ago. That has audiences especially curious about the lesser-known William.

Even the most personal matters weren’t off limits to Gayle on Wednesday. Speaking on the Call Her Daddy podcast, the acclaimed anchor shared how William committed adultery years ago.
Gayle says she got back from the airport earlier than expected one day. That set off the house alarm as William allegedly bolted to the door to try to block Gayle from coming in. She says that he was wrapped in a towel. Gayle says she found a woman hiding in the house, also covered in a towel. It was none other than her best friend.
That story has people scrambling to find out more about William. Nowadays, according to his bio, he is practicing law as a member of Wolf & Shore Law Group. His reputation as a husband may not look great, but he’s got an impressive resume as a lawyer. He has a Juris Doctor degree from Yale Law School. He’s been an attorney for over 35 years and is a partner in his current firm.
Near the end of the bio, it notes that he is a father of three, meaning he has a kid from another relationship. It also says that he has two grandkids.
In 2016, William broke his silence about his past actions. He apologized to Gayle, calling what he did a “life-changing mistake.” After catching her friend and William together, Gayle still took her to the train station to get home to her own husband.
