Kelly Clarkson broke down during an episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show, which will officially conclude in the fall of 2026. The 44-year-old became emotional after guest Rita Wilson praised her for bringing “so much music to daytime” over the past seven years.

During Wilson’s May 27 appearance, she was seen praising Clarkson. The Sleepless in Seattle actress, who is currently promoting her new album, Sound of a Woman, said, “I just wanna say one thing before we go. I wanna thank you for the years that you’ve been doing your show. I wanna thank you for literally changing the game when it came to daytime television.”
The 69-year-old continued by saying, “The fact that you love music. That you have brought so much music to daytime, that you have shared with us your voice, your gifts, and everyone else’s, and your incredible band. I really wanna thank you because it has made a big change in my life. So thank you, Kelly.”
After the heartfelt tribute, Clarkson appeared emotional. “I’m not crying,” she said, before adding, “That’s so nice.”
On February 2, 2026, Clarkson announced the show, which premiered in 2019, would end via an Instagram post. She wrote, “I have been extremely fortunate to work with such an outstanding group of people at ‘The Kelly Clarkson Show,’ both in Los Angeles and New York. There have been so many amazing moments and shows over these seven seasons.”
The singer, known as a vocal powerhouse, mentioned the decision would allow her to “prioritise” her children. She said, “This was not an easy decision, but this season will be my last hosting ‘The Kelly Clarkson Show.’ Stepping away from the daily schedule will allow me to prioritize my kids, which feels necessary and right for this next chapter of our lives.”
