We’re a day away from the new season of Love Island USA, and we’ve already had an elimination. Season 8 just revealed its cast last week, but one Islander won’t be making the journey to the Villa in Fiji. This news comes amid some controversial videos that surfaced online about one of those initially selected for the show.
Some of those in this season’s cast had been under the microscope, with people scrambling online to dig up anything they could about the new crop of contestants. As it turns out, some very revealing content about one came to light.
Vasana Montgomery has been kicked off the Peacock reality show
They teased that Season 8 would be loaded with drama, but it’s probably not the kind they’d hopes for. TMZ has learned that Vasana Montgomery has been removed as an Islander for this season. This decision came after videos surfaced about her online following the show’s cast reveal. In one clip, it sounds like she utters the n-word while rapping. In another, she yells out that word as her friend plays an arcade game.
A source close to the show’s production told TMZ that Vasana will not be part of the show. Reports suggest the videos about her that went out were private and not publicly shared until after the cast reveal. Evidently those in the show was not aware of it until recently.
The show has received its share of scrutiny since the new cast was revealed. Mackenzie Annis, also known as Kenzie, is among those taking heat. That’s because she appeared in photos posing with people who appeared to be sporting Make America Great Again (MAGA) attire. Her father, Tim, tells TMZ that neither she nor the family supports President Donald Trump.
Last year, the show got flak after Islander Yulissa Escobar was kicked out for uttering the N-word on multiple podcast clips. Following the cast reveal last week the show made a statement urging fans to be respectful. Season 8 premieres on Tuesday.
