Donald Trump Faces Backlash for Saying He Pulls More Crowd Than Elvis Presley

Donald Trump has come under fire for claiming that his popularity exceeds that of Elvis Presley. With a slew of artists pulling out of the upcoming Freedom 250 concerts, the President took it upon himself to lead the proceedings for the event. While announcing this update, he claimed that he can pull a larger crowd than the ‘King of Rock and Roll’ himself. Trump’s statement has since garnered massive backlash online, with supporters and detractors alike criticizing him for his bizarre comment.

Donald Trump criticized for his recent Elvis Presley comment

On May 30, the POTUS took to social media to address the issue of several performers withdrawing their names from the forthcoming Independence Day celebrations.

In the Truth Social post, Donald Trump berated the artists who have refused to participate in the Freedom 250 concerts. He then stated that he is thinking of replacing the said artists as he can draw “much larger audiences” than Elvis Presley.

Trump wrote, “I am thinking about bringing the Number One Attraction anywhere in the World, the man who gets much larger audiences than Elvis in his prime, and he does so without a guitar, the man who loves our Country more than anyone else, and the man who some say is the Greatest President in History (THE GOAT!), DONALD J. TRUMP, to take the place of these highly paid, Third Rate “Artists,” and give a major speech, rallying the Country forward like I have done ever since being President.”

However, netizens haven’t responded kindly to Trump’s outlandish claims. One X (formerly Twitter) user expressed their disagreement by writing, “Everything about your presidency is one giant fumble. You’re the GOAT of the choke. Never been a bigger rug pull in our history. Pathetic!”

Another one noted, “Correction: Donald Trump is taking America ‘back’ to the days of the Great Depression.” Meanwhile, a Donald Trump sympathizer also shared a similar sentiment. They wrote, “I’m a supporter, but this is a terrible, awful idea. America 250 cannot be about Trump. It’s about America, our history, and everyone who’s made it what it is today. Please don’t let him do this.”

Notably, the Freedom 250 concerts were announced to commemorate the 250th US Independence Day. However, numerous artists from the lineup, including Milli Vanilli, The Commodores, Martina McBride, and Bret Michaels, eventually backed out of the event.
