In an unexpected admission, Donald Trump opened up about where his wife’s true loyalties lie—and it isn’t entirely with him. The President told reporters that Melania Trump‘s love for their 20-year-old son, Barron, runs deeper than her love for anyone else, including himself.

The president revealed where the First Lady’s priorities really lie during a White House meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
“She’s got a great love of children; she has a wonderful son that she loves probably more than anybody, including me, I hate to say it,” Trump told reporters, according to HELLO! Magazine.
The president commented while explaining why Melania has been so vocal about the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine. He revealed that the First Lady has been horrified watching the war unfold—she is fiercely protective of their 20-year-old son.
“She’s watched the same thing that you watch, and I watch; I see things that you don’t get to see. It’s horrible. She has got a great love of children,” Trump said of Melania.
He reiterated that Melania’s compassion extends beyond her own family. “She loves her son, she loves children, and she hates to see something like this happening,” he said.
The couple has been married since 2005. They welcomed Barron in March 2006, and Melania has remained fiercely protective of her only child throughout his upbringing. Barron was largely shielded from the public eye during his father’s first term; he became more visible during the 2024 campaign.
Barron is currently studying at New York University’s Stern School of Business’s Washington, D.C. campus. The 20-year-old has also co-founded the cryptocurrency company World Liberty Financial alongside his brothers, Donald Jr. and Eric.
