Sources suggest Prince William and Prince Harry ‘can’t spend the day’ together
According to Rob Shuter, Prince Harry was snubbed from the guest list for Peter Phillips’s wedding because the family prioritized Prince William. Sources told the outlet that the family knew that the Prince of Wales wouldn’t attend the event if Harry showed up. “There was never going to be a scenario where William and Harry spent the day together,” one royal insider stated. The individual added, “That ship has sailed.”
As per sources, the decision became simple once the reality was acknowledged. “Nobody sat around debating this,” an insider said. The insider continued, “William was always going to win.” A palace source shared, “One brother is the future of the institution. The other walked away from it.” Insiders also said that the family wanted to ensure William’s comfort for Peter Phillips’s wedding. “The calculation was straightforward,” a source stated. They further explained, “Keep William happy and the event goes ahead without a problem.” The relationship between the brothers has allegedly become so fractured that relatives are no longer trying to force interactions.
“People still talk about reconciliation,” an insider said. However, “William isn’t interested in sharing a room, a table, or a photo opportunity with Harry.” Moreover, a source explained, “There is no choice. William is the heir. William is the priority. Every single time.” Royal commentator Emily Nash also discussed this matter with Page Six. “I think it comes down to interpersonal relationships, doesn’t it? What we were told was that Peter hadn’t spoken to Harry for the last few years. And so it sort of has been a natural cooling off and he wasn’t invited as a result,” she said.
