Bryce Alakai Dettloff is uncovering some troubling details from his past. The Love Island USA contestant recently discussed how he’d been bullied while in middle school. He is currently paired with Trinity Tatum for Season 8 of the show.
While the two were getting to know each other, Trinity was wondering how he looked when he was younger. He shared that he was popular with the girls at school, though he says that wasn’t the case with the guys.

Jealousy was allegedly the primary reason many guys didn’t like Bryce years ago. On Sunday’s episode of Love Island USA, Bryce opened up to Trinity about some unpleasant experiences he had in middle school. “I looked like a girl,” Bryce told Trinity back in those days. He says that “all the girls liked me” in school. He remembers what a grade eight girl said about him years ago when he was in the seventh grade. Bryce says that this girl called him “the cutest guy ever.”
Bryce says that all the guys supposedly bullied him “because they thought I was better looking.” Today, Bryce works as a professional model and DJ. He previously said that love was all he wanted from the Love Island USA experience.
He is not the only one to share a shocking story on this season of the show. The Islanders recently had sex facts read out loud and had to decide which contestant it was about. It was revealed that Gabriel Vasconcelos slept with someone in their 50s. “We had a good night together. She had a lot of experience,” shared Gabriel. He is currently 26.
Bryce has been among the most talked about Islanders on Season 8 so far. Last week, many believed he resembled a political activist. Fans also noted how much they thought he looked like Charlie Kirk.
