Sophie Turner is embracing a new decade with a sense of relief after leaving behind what she describes as the emotional chaos of her twenties. The “Game of Thrones” star recently reflected on the personal challenges she faced before turning 30.
For many people, a 30th birthday inspires a little soul-searching. For Turner, it apparently came with what she called a “mini breakdown” before ultimately leading to a more positive outlook on life.

Speaking to The Telegraph, the actress said she and many of her longtime friends experienced similar emotions as they approached the milestone birthday.
“All my best friends are my age, and we went to school together, and we’re having a year of 30th birthdays,” Turner explained. “We’re just so happy to be out of the mess of our 20s.”
She admitted that the transition wasn’t entirely smooth. “Each of us has had a mini-breakdown, but we all feel really positive now,” she said, adding that she was more than ready to move on from that chapter of her life.
Turner also revealed that acting became an important outlet during some of her most difficult years. The actress described her work as a form of emotional release, explaining that stepping into a character often helps her process experiences from her own life.
“It is like a catharsis,” she shared. “I need to do it creatively to process what’s been going on in my life.”
One project in particular carried personal significance. Turner referenced the film “Trust,” which follows a woman trying to protect her child after being manipulated by the father of her baby. While she didn’t directly mention ex-husband Joe Jonas, many fans may draw parallels to the pair’s highly publicized split in 2023 and the custody dispute that followed.
Today, Turner appears focused on moving forward. The actress shares daughters Willa and Delphine with Jonas. She previously praised their co-parenting relationship and called the singer a “great father” in an interview with British Vogue.
Professionally, she’s entering another major chapter. Turner is set to take on the iconic role of Lara Croft in a new “Tomb Raider” series, a project she says has become her primary focus.
