Jennifer Lopez Reveals What Men Must Do Instead of Sliding Into Her DMs

Jennifer Lopez may be open to finding love again someday, but don’t expect her to respond to a direct message. The singer and actress recently opened up about dating during an appearance on “Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen”, revealing that anyone hoping to catch her attention will need to put in far more effort than a social media message.

Jennifer Lopez reveals how a man could approach her in new interview

Lopez discussed her love life during the June 8 episode of “Watch What Happens Live”. When host Andy Cohen asked whether she checks her direct messages, the “Office Romance” star quickly shut down the idea.

“Do you check your DMs, Jennifer?” Cohen asked.

“No,” Lopez replied without hesitation.

Cohen then joked about whether she might make an exception for “some amazing Spanish soccer player.” Lopez still wasn’t convinced.

“I think they would be able to find me, no?” she said. “If you really wanted to find me, you could find me.”

When Cohen suggested Instagram as an option, Lopez made her stance clear. “You’re not going to find me through Instagram or sliding into my DMs. You have to make more of an effort than that.”

Her comments come more than a year after her split from Ben Affleck. Lopez filed for divorce in August 2024, and the former couple finalized the split in January 2025. The pair first became engaged in the early 2000s before reconnecting nearly two decades later and marrying in 2022.

Since the breakup, Lopez has spoken candidly about embracing life on her own. During a May appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!,” she admitted she is enjoying being single and has no plans to disrupt her current happiness.

“I’m not doing anything to ruin how I feel right now. It’s fantastic. I love it,” she said.

Earlier this year, the singer also reflected on taking time away from work after the separation. Speaking on “Good Morning America”, she explained that she stepped back from professional commitments and focused on understanding herself instead of distracting herself with work or relationships.

That period of self-reflection appears to have changed her outlook. Lopez said she now trusts herself more, appreciates her independence, and feels a sense of freedom she had not experienced in decades. For now, it seems anyone interested in dating her will need a lot more than a simple DM to make an impression.
