After letting Amanda Batula catch most of the heat during the Summer House Season 10 reunion and remaining pretty quiet across the two episodes that have so far aired, West Wilson is now speaking out.
In a new podcast episode, West defended his scandalous romance with Amanda and denied claims made by his co-stars, including Ciara Miller, that he is a “clout chaser.”
The reality TV star also reacted to claims he is “super calculated”
Speaking on his Show Me Something podcast, West responded to allegations made against him by his Summer House castmates, including his ex, Ciara.
“Wouldn’t the most clout-chasing move be to like date Ciara?” he said of the suggestion that he’s only dating Amanda for fame. “That would clearly benefit me more than any other decision I’ve ever made.”
Diving deeper into that, West argued that his social circle is further evidence that he doesn’t care about clout. “My main friend group in New York is made up of zero influencers,” he said.
The former sports journalist and reality TV star also pushed back on the suggestion that he is “super calculated.”
“If I was calculated, I wouldn’t be in this f*cking mess,” he said. “I’m in this mess because I’ve made mistakes and, like, f*cked around too much.”
He went on: “If I was calculating and trying to do the right thing, I would’ve just dated Ciara.”
Despite his denials, West did own up to some wrongdoing during the podcast. “The patterns and dating style do deserve criticism, like a lot of criticism,” he admitted. “But there are some things where it’s kind of like, ‘what are we doing here?'”
To that end, West said, “people are angry and have sh*t to talk, so that’s what the reunion is for.”
