The View Hosts Call Out Donald Trump for Sleeping at NBA Finals

Adding to a line of viral public appearances, President Donald Trump was once again caught napping – this time at Game 3 of the NBA Finals, where the San Antonio Spurs defeated the New York Knicks in New York.

The View hosts heavily criticized Trump for falling asleep while seated in prized box seats, while New Yorkers are scrambling for high-priced tickets to catch their favourite team play.

Donald Trump and the viral Madison Square Garden moment receive huge backlash as The View takes note

The video footage went viral, and The View hosts led their Hot Topics segment with it. Host Sunny Hostin appeared to be personally offended and said, “It cost so much money to secure Madison Square Garden,” she said. “It cost New York millions of dollars for Donald Trump to come to the game, where he was not cheered, he was booed, and during which he fell asleep! So, for me, just fall asleep somewhere else! Don’t bring your bad karma vibe to New York!”

Host Alyssa Farah Griffin was equally disparaging of Trump’s napping at a much-anticipated game. “New Yorkers are taking out second mortgages to afford tickets to this game, and this guy’s falling asleep,” she said.

She also added that it was a bad political move by Trump. Attending a game when the Knicks were on a winning streak translates to being blamed for its defeat. Whoopi Goldberg offered a slight defence, saying that the president does not have the power to single-handedly end the Knicks’ postseason winning streak.

The napping incident is one of many. Recently, late-night host Seth Meyers dedicated the entire “A Closer Look” segment to Trump’s micro naps during public events. The White House has always been defensive against public speculations around signs of health decline in the president, including his pattern of falling asleep mid-session.

DO YOU THINK DONALD TRUMP’S PRESENCE HAD SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE OUTCOME OF THE GAME’S RESULT?
