Knicks star Jeremy Lin opened up about the origin of rumors he once dated Kim Kardashian. In a new podcast appearance, the 37-year-old shared that Kardashian contacted the New York Knicks with a “real request” to see him at the peak of his career. At present, Kardashian is in a steady relationship with F1 star Lewis Hamilton, while Lin admitted he secretly got married a few years ago.
Jeremy Lin says Kim Kardashian made a ‘real request’ to see him
As per ex-Knicks player Jeremy Lin, Kim Kardashian was keen to meet him when he was at the peak of his career. Lin appeared on the Pablo Torre Finds Out podcast, where he revealed that the SKIMS founder contacted the Knicks management enquiring about him sometime during his 2011–2012 NBA season.
The 37-year-old stated, “The request did come in to the Knicks, and that is a real request. I think basically, she at that time was filming her show—I don’t know if it’s Keeping Up With the Kardashians or whatever show was happening back then—but I know that she was looking for a New York athlete to be on this show, essentially.”
Lin explained that Kardashian’s alleged request never reached him as the team rejected it. The Taiwanese-American star explained, “The request came into the Knicks and they immediately declined it without even asking us. They were like, ‘We’re not allowing our young second-year player to go down this route right now.’ This is what was told to me afterward.”
Interestingly, the Lin-Kardashian romance saga made headlines and even prompted ESPN reporter Rachel Nichols to quiz him about the media buzz. Lin admitted at the time that he had no idea where the Kardashian rumors emerged from. This prompted Nichols to ask, “You don’t think you’re the Kim Kardashian type?” To which he replied, “No, I don’t think I’m that type.”
Fans had interesting reactions to this on X (formerly Twitter). One fan commented, “Dodged a bullet.” A second fan quipped, “Couldn’t go East so she went West.” A third fan wrote, “I guess the Kardashians have a type. Just anybody famous.”
