Candace Owens is once again making headlines, this time by aiming at Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner over their controversial luxury resort project in Albania. The conservative commentator devoted a recent podcast segment to criticizing the development, using sharp sarcasm.
Owens’ remarks mark another chapter in her increasingly public split from Donald Trump’s political orbit, with the commentator now openly criticizing members of the president’s family.

At the center of the controversy is a proposed $1.4 billion luxury resort planned for Albania’s Sazan Island. The project, backed by Jared Kushner’s investment firm, has faced opposition from environmental groups and protesters who argue the development could threaten a sensitive coastal ecosystem.
Ivanka recently discussed the venture during an appearance on entrepreneur David Senra’s podcast, describing the discovery of the island as almost accidental.
“We were on a friend’s boat,” Ivanka said, recalling how she and Kushner first encountered the property. “We swam to the islands. We went on a hike, barefoot all the way, up to the top. And we were just captivated.”
That description became a focal point of Owens’ criticism. During her podcast, Owens mocked what she characterized as an attempt to present the project as a “spiritual vision” rather than a major commercial development. She questioned the messaging surrounding the resort and linked the project to broader geopolitical issues involving Kushner and the Trump family.
The comments quickly gained traction online, particularly as protests against the development continue in Albania. Demonstrators in the capital city of Tirana have reportedly carried signs opposing the project, while environmental advocates have raised concerns about the island’s wildlife and natural habitat.
Aleksandër Trajçe, executive director of a leading Albanian conservation organization, previously told The Guardian that the development process lacked sufficient environmental consideration.
Supporters of the project, however, argue that criticism has been amplified because of the Trump family’s involvement. Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama recently suggested the reaction would likely be different if Kushner’s name were not attached to the proposal.
TELL US – DO YOU THINK THE CONTROVERSY IS ABOUT THE DEVELOPMENT ITSELF OR THE TRUMP FAMILY’S INVOLVEMENT IN IT?
