Love Island USA Exec Dead at 40 While Working in Fiji

There’s some sad news to report about Love Island USA. James Barker, a prominent member of their production team has died while the show was filming in Fiji.

The Executive Producer had been working on the show since 2020, beginning as a story producer before being promoted. Among his roles were overseeing production of the show, post-production, and the soundtrack.

Love Island USA is reeling from a big blow. James Barker was a huge part of their production team, and those behind the scenes are in shock following his passing. The network, ITV America and Peacock released a statement following the tragic news. They say that his death is unimaginable and “deeply felt across not just the entire Love Island USA production, but throughout all of ITV and Peacock.”

Meanwhile, they tell TMZ that Tuesday’s episode will be dedicated to James. He suffered a medical emergency while on location in Fiji.

James has been called a “beloved and greatly valued member of our collective family” by the network. They offered their condolences to his partner, family and friends during this difficult time. The exact circumstances surrounding his untimely death remain unknown.

James began his television career at Leftfield Pictures back in 2011. He served as a producer on Counting Cars, Forged in Fire and Pawn Stars. He’d also been a part of shows for Scout Productions, Sharp Entertainment and Kinetic Content, to name a few. He was just 40 when he died.
