Jelly Roll and his wife, Bunnie Xo, are splitting after nearly a decade of marriage. While both have remained silent about the split, Bunnie Xo posted a cryptic Instagram story on June 15, just hours before reports of the couple’s divorce emerged.
What Bunnie Xo shared before reports involving Jelly Roll surfaced
According to TMZ, Roll, whose real name is Jason Bradley DeFord, filed for divorce in Tennessee on May 18. The reason for the divorce filing remains unclear. However, reports suggest that the divorce was mutually agreed upon.
However, hours before news of their divorce broke, Bunnie XO, born Alisa Carter, posted a vague message about rediscovering her “sparkle back” on her Instagram story. She was seen in a stripped-down photo of herself sitting on a brown couch, reports Page Six. She also shared a video showing her lip-syncing and dancing to How You Remind Me, the band’s iconic breakup anthem, on her feed.
The couple married in August 2016 and began their fertility journey in 2019, with plans to expand their family, reports E! News. In February 2026, Bunnie, who worked as a sex worker and left the industry in 2023, noted in her memoir Stripped Down: Unfiltered and Unapologetic that the couple was trying for twins via a surrogate. She stated, “Now that we’re finally stable financially and somewhat emotionally after all the healing we’ve done over this decade together, we’re talking about the future.”
According to Today, Jelly Roll disclosed in October 2025 that he had cheated on his wife earlier in their relationship. He said, “I don’t talk about this publicly at all, but one of the worst moments of my adulthood was when I had an affair.”
In 2024, Bunnie XO said the couple had separated back in 2018. She wrote, as quoted by the outlet, “Who knew that us breaking up in 2018, me moving back to Vegas & you coming to get me back — would have put us on this wild journey called life. We finally committed to each other & did everything we promised each other the first night in 2016.”
Jelly Roll has two children from previous relationships: an 18-year-old daughter, Bailee Ann DeFord, and a nine-year-old son, Noah “Buddy” DeFord, who sometimes appear in their stepmother’s videos.
