Michelle Obama has spoken out for the first time after the controversial comment by Josh Hokit at the UFC Freedom 250 event on Sunday about her, and it seems that the former First Lady has gracefully decided to ignore the controversial comment by the fighter. Instead, Michelle spoke about the portrait for the Obama Presidential Center that Njideka Akunyili Crosby is making.
Michelle Obama posts after UFC controversy
Michelle Obama, the former First Lady of the United States, shared a new public message after UFC fighter Josh Hokit made comments about her following his victory at the UFC Freedom 250 event held on the White House lawn.
Hokit’s remarks generated discussion online. However, Obama did not address the comments in her latest social media post. Instead, she highlighted artist Njideka Akunyili Crosby’s portrait of her and former President Barack Obama for the Obama Presidential Center.
“Barack and I were so honored to have @AkunyiliCrosby create our portrait for the Obama Presidential Center. Her artistic brilliance shines through, and the way she infused such life and joy into the piece is truly extraordinary. We love it, and we think everyone who visits the Center will too!” she wrote on X, along with a video of her interaction with Crosby.
In the nearly 90-second video, Barack and Michelle Obama can be seen discussing the artwork with Crosby. The portrait incorporates a mosaic of images featuring the former first couple throughout different stages of their lives and careers. Reacting to the piece, Obama said, “It’s us! And all of the stories within the story.” She later added, “Oh my god, you got everything in there!”
Some social media users had anticipated a response from Michelle or Barack Obama regarding Hokit’s remarks. However, neither publicly addressed the comments. Instead, Michelle Obama’s latest post remained focused on the Obama Presidential Center and Crosby’s artwork.
Meanwhile, discussion surrounding Hokit’s comments continued across social media and in media coverage following the event.
