Donald Trump‘s wife, Melania Trump, was noticeably absent from the recent White House Correspondents’ Dinner. The no-show has since sparked speculation about the first couple’s marriage. A claim has emerged suggesting that the first lady is trying to “distance” herself from her husband.
Melania Trump’s absence from WHCD has sparked new theories
Melania Trump skipped the rescheduled White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner on July 24. According to a recent report, the first lady’s frequent absence from public events is intentional. Journalist Joanna Coles and author Michael Wolff have noted Melania’s lack of public appearances. They described it as a “vanishing act,” discussing the “mystery” surrounding her personal endeavors.
Speaking on The Daily Beast’s Inside Trump’s Head podcast, Coles said, “We really have seen almost nothing of the First Lady this year, which is why it was a surprise to see her.” The journalist added, “We’ve seen her, I think, three times this month at UFC, at the fireworks. And she was there with Barron at the World Cup final on Sunday. And actually, I looked it up. She’s done approximately 14 to 16 public appearances this year.”
Wolff also pointed out that Melania had made few appearances on the 2024 presidential campaign trail and Trump’s “myriad court appearances.” Soon after, Coles questioned, “What is she doing the rest of the time? I do have questions about her because it’s very odd that she is missing, and she is particularly elegant.”
Wolff went on to claim that Donald and Melania Trump have the “strangest marriage in the history of all presidential marriages.” He added, “They don’t know what she’s going to do and they are afraid of it.” Wolff added, “Even more disturbing to the White House is that this business of hers seems to make her the center of attention, which puts her kind of in direct conflict with the President of the United States, who, as we know, can’t stand anyone else being the center of attention.”
