When the news originally broke, Amanda texted Lindsay Hubbard to say, “Not expecting a response. Just texting to say I’m sorry.”

The next day, Lindsay responded, “I have a lot of feelings about all of this but just checking in to make sure you’re okay?”

A couple of days later, Amanda got back to her. “Appreciate you responding and I know I’ve upset you with my choices and I’m so sorry for that. This whole thing has blown up in a way I could have never imagined.”

After the reunion was over, Amanda texted, “I’m not ready to talk either but was hoping we could get together in the next few weeks and talk.” Next thing we know, Amanda was knocking on Lindsay’s door. She came bearing two bottles of rosé, so this was clearly going to be a serious conversation.

“I’ve made some poor decisions, but … I was in such a sh*tty relationship,” Amanda explained, referring to her marriage with Kyle Cooke. “I just wasn’t me anymore. And going out [with West], I felt just … fun again. I think maybe I confused going out with West and falling in love with myself again.”

Amanda claimed that West was constantly texting and “pursuing” her to hang out, though, she mostly refused until after she and Kyle announced their separation. That was when she decided she couldn’t sit at home alone anymore and started going out with West.

Ultimately, Lindsay thought West manipulated Amanda and wondered why she didn’t shut him down. But Amanda said she was overwhelmed by someone who seemed to care about her. West showering her with attention made her feel lovable again.

Summer House is now streaming on Peacock.
