Madonna‘s book, titled “Sex,” which stirred a lot of controversy, has reportedly been in major demand to this day. There’s allegedly no sign of a decrease in demand for the much-talked-about book, as individuals are willing to pay a hefty price to get it. It has been over three decades since “Queen of Pop” dropped the book. It was published on October 21, 1992, along with her album, titled “Erotica.”
Madonna’s most controversial project continues to be in demand, claims a report
“Sex,” the book, which remains Madonna’s most controversial project yet, is still allegedly in high demand among collectors. As reported by RadarOnline, the artist sold over 1.5 million copies of the explicit book all across the globe just within days of its release. However, it has reportedly never been officially published again.
In the meantime, according to the news outlet, complete copies of Madonna‘s book, “Sex,” sell for between $400 and $1,500, or even more, on a routine basis. Meanwhile, a specialist told Radar, “Nothing else has managed to sustain this level of demand for so long,” while referring to the controversial book. They continued, “People have been searching for this title for decades.” They also added, “And every year there seems to be a new generation of collectors” who wish to “track down a copy.”
In the meantime, per the news outlet BookFinder, the company previously named Madonna’s book “Sex” the “most sought-after out-of-print title” in America. The company also allegedly predicted that the book “was unlikely to return to print.” They reportedly said, “Since Madonna is never one to do something twice.” The company continued, “And the fact that the once highly controversial book is less edgy than it once was.” They added, “Leads us to guess that Sex will remain out of print.”
Meanwhile, another insider said to the news outlet, “The scarcity is part of the attraction.” The person continued, “Once a book becomes difficult to obtain, especially one attached to a cultural figure as significant as Madonna. Demand can take on a life of its own.”
