Who Is Josef? Meet the Below Deck Med Charter Guest Who Pushed Nathan Too Far

If you are caught up with Below Deck Mediterranean, you’ve definitely got some questions. In case you haven’t, you’re in for a treat (no, not really). In the latest episode, aptly entitled Guestzilla on Board, a new charter guest comes in to literally wreak havoc on the whole crew and his own girlfriend to boot. His name is Josef Rettman, and he pushed everyone’s buttons, including bosun Nathan Gallagher, who, by the end of the episode, is clearly at wits’ end.

Johnny Damon’s friend and charter guest is causing Below Deck Mediterranean chaos

Episode 3 started so well. A familiar charter guest, Johnny Damon, a former Major League Baseball star, boarded the M/Y Akira One. And while Captain Sandy Yawn was definitely happy to host Johnny again, the same can’t be said for his guests. One guest, in particular, really got on everyone’s nerves.

The guest in question is Josef, and he yelled at Nathan within five minutes of being on board. He was a difficult guest for sure, but tensions weren’t just high between him and the whole crew. They were also high between him and his girlfriend, who quickly (pardon the pun) jumped ship at her first opportunity.

So, who is this mystery nightmare guest? Here’s a little information on the charter’s difficult arrival. According to his LinkedIn profile (Josef has surely been a hot topic on Google recently), he is the president of NEI General Contracting and is he is from Massachusetts.

He has a Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations and Affairs (although he could have fooled us!) from Syracuse University.

And apparently, according to NEI’s site, contracting runs in the family as Josef’s grandfather and father were both in the business. He joined NEI General Contracting in 2003. There isn’t much more about him, and no clearly visible social media, although he does feature in some posts from local construction pages in the area.

As for how he knows Johnny, the pair revealed they are old friends in the episode. It’s hard to imagine considering Josef’s behavior. The episode ended with him literally entering the bridge to tell Nathan he doesn’t like his attitude. Yikes! There have been some challenging guests on Below Deck, but Josef is giving them a run for their money.

Below Deck Mediterranean continues Mondays at 8/7c on Bravo. It streams on Peacock.
