President Donald Trump kicked off the celebrations for America’s 250th year of independence with a rally on Washington’s National Mall. During the event, Sean Duffy delivered a speech, during which he berated all the musicians who declined to participate in the gathering.

Multiple singers and musicians had turned down the invitation to the America 250 gathering after learning about its political nature. They include Martina McBride, The Commodores, Young MC, and Bret Michaels.

Duffy began the speech by praising the Marine band that performed at the event. He also lauded singers like Alexis Wilkins, the girlfriend of FBI Director Kash Patel, who sang the national anthem, as well as Lee Greenwood and Christopher Macchio.

Lashing out at musicians who declined to attend, Duffy added, “Way better than those libtards that canceled on us.” The official X account of White House Rapid Response shared a clip of the moment, agreeing with Duffy’s remarks.

Donald Trump also spoke at the Great American State Fair on Wednesday. “I am thrilled to declare that America is back,” he began. The president continued his boast, saying, “As you know very well, a short time ago we were a dead country. We were dead. Now we’re the hottest country anywhere in the world. We’re respected by everybody. Nobody’s laughing at us anymore.”

Trump added, “There has never been anything like the United States of America, and together we are making it bigger and better and stronger and far more exceptional than ever before.”
