The Duke of Sussex is expected to return to Britain in September, and King Charles has reportedly offered him accommodation at Buckingham Palace. The invitation has also reportedly extended to Meghan, but sources claim the Duchess would prefer to remain at home in California.
Harry reportedly wants Meghan to join him after he allegedly pushed the Palace for concessions during their previous UK visit. According to the insider, Harry pushed the royal household to make arrangements to ensure Meghan felt comfortable during the trip. “He stood very strong on her behalf and demanded plenty of concessions from the Palace and the royal team,” the source claimed.
The insider added that the Palace’s willingness to accommodate those requests has left Harry feeling that Meghan should now return the gesture. “They’ve been very generous, so in his view she ought to be gracious and reward that show of good faith by showing up and standing by his side,” the source alleged.
Harry’s upcoming trip could look very different if Meghan decides not to accompany him. The Duke plans to return to Britain for charity commitments in September, with a reported stay at Buckingham Palace bringing him closer to King Charles as he works to rebuild their relationship. However, the insider claimed Meghan would rather stay home.
The source also claimed Harry feels uncomfortable whenever his wife does not accompany him on major UK visits. “He must be dreading going over there on his own and, once again, having everybody asking him, ‘Where’s Meghan?’” the insider said. “It doesn’t feel like it’s too much to ask her to come stand by his side, even if it’s not something she wants,” the insider claimed.
