An Insider told Closer that the lives of the Sussexes “have drifted onto completely different tracks.” Per the insider, the royal could have started drifting “two years ago when they made the conscious decision to go in their own directions with their work.”
However, it has “gradually expanded to the point where it’s become impossible to deny that they are now living very separate lives much of the time.” Revealing more about their situation, the source further added that the former actress “is focused on building her business empire while Harry often seems to be operating in an entirely different world.”
And after Harry drew attention for attending a basketball game alone in Texas earlier this month, the insider shared that the Duchess “could easily have attended the basketball game.” However, she gave the “same old excuses about needing to take care of the kids and focus on work.” While “no one is suggesting the marriage is over,” the source says, the couple is “spending a huge amount of time on separate schedules, in separate cities, and, inevitably, in separate beds. It’s become almost the new normal for them to be apart.”
Moreover, Markle thinks that since “both independent adults with their own interests and ambitions,” she sees no reason why they should do everything together. She even shuts down suggestions that there’s anything wrong between them. Hence, even Harry has “adopted the same public stance.” “But there’s no question this arrangement is a world away from the life they originally envisioned,” noted the insider.
