Hoda Kotb Reportedly Didn’t Hesitate Amid Savannah Guthrie Crisis

Support is reportedly building around Savannah Guthrie, and Hoda Kotb is said to be leading the way. According to a new report, NBC is allegedly quietly preparing in case the former decides to take a break from “Today” as she copes with the search for her mother, Nancy Guthrie. Sources claim Kotb immediately offered to step in to ensure her longtime colleague has the space to focus on her family if needed.

Hoda Kotb ready to step in if Savannah Guthrie decides to take a break from work, claims source

Rob Shuter’s Naughty But Nice recently reported that Hoda Kotb has allegedly told NBC executives she is prepared to return to the “Today” anchor desk if Savannah Guthrie decides she needs time away from work amid the ongoing search for her mother, Nancy Guthrie.

The report comes after an anonymous message reportedly surfaced claiming to contain video connected to the case. While the authenticity of that message has not been verified, insiders claim it has intensified concern inside the network.

As a result, executives are reportedly preparing for the possibility that Guthrie may need to step back with little notice. “Everyone is deeply worried about Savannah,” one NBC insider told the outlet. The source claimed Guthrie has stayed strong on air, despite the emotional toll off camera.

What’s more, the insider claimed that each new development has been difficult to process. “No one expects a daughter to carry this kind of heartbreak while hosting live television every morning,” the source added.

Meanwhile, Kotb is said to have immediately offered her support. “Hoda didn’t hesitate,” another insider claimed. As per the source, Kotb allegedly made it clear she would return “the moment she’s needed.”

However, the report suggests the offer has nothing to do with filling Guthrie’s role permanently. “This isn’t about replacing Savannah,” the source claimed. “It’s about protecting a friend.” The insider added that everyone at the network wants Guthrie focused on “finding her mother” rather than worrying about the morning show if she reaches a point where she needs time away.

Even so, sources claim Guthrie has shown no signs of wanting to step back. According to people close to the anchor, she reportedly remains committed to continuing her work despite the emotional strain. That determination reflects her earlier decision to remain on air after colleagues allegedly encouraged her to take leave when the case involving her mother returned to public attention.
