Zohran Mamdani joins Pride Parade in NYC
The annual NYC Pride Parade is one of the biggest celebrations for New Yorkers, drawing massive crowds. However, this year, the parade has been talked about on the internet as the NYC Mayor was seen joining during the march.
A Reddit user shared a video of Mamdani holding the Pride flag and a giant poster. Soon, the internet was flooded with praise for Mamdani.
A user wrote, “Again, he is really the one of the only likeable politicians in this day and age. He really cares about what he does.”
Another wrote, “This man doesn’t sleep. I live in the CA Bay Area, and I am so jealous of NYC right now. We claim to be progressive, but we’re spitting out Newsoms and Pelosis. At least here in Oakland, we have Barbara Lee, but she is no Mamdani.”
This is Mamdani’s first Parade March since his term began. He mentioned there is a dedicated office for LGBTQ+ communities and a dedicated campaign, “Trans Rights are Human Rights,” this month.
Millions of people filled the streets, and a sea of colors was seen during the celebration of the LGBTQ+ community as Pride Month came to a close. This year, the official theme was “For All of Us” to support equality.
As photos and videos of Mamdani participating in the Pride march continue to circulate online, many online users are applauding his support for the community. The moment became one of the most-talked-about from this year’s NYC Pride Parade.
